A hidden gem of St. Barths: our elegant cats

Discover the Feline Charm of St Barths

The animals of St. Barths are an important asset of the island, and the cats in particular are an attractive, relaxing, and graceful facet of the island. They captivate the hearts of tourists and local residents alike. Whether lounging in the sun or stealthily exploring hidden alleys, encountering these charismatic creatures is an unexpected delight that underscores the relaxed charm of St Barths.

At Marjara, we are dedicated to preserving and safeguarding the unique allure of St. Barths by providing a lifeline to its beloved feline inhabitants. By providing them with veterinary care, food, and affection, we can protect the cats themselves and help reduce the stray cat population through sterilization. By helping them find homes, we can protect the animal species, such as birds and lizards, that would normally fall prey to them.

What is currently happening?

We have 35 cats ourselves and actively care for dozens of others around the island. Visit the gallery to see our feline friends!

There are many generous and loving individuals who care for cats around the island. They feed the cats multiple times per day; they bring unfixed cats to the veterinarian for the surgery; they catch any sick or injured cats and provide medical care.

We are creating this association to highlight our stunning cats and to ask for your help to preserve this unique aspect of our island.

Our Future Projects

MARJARA SANCTUARY

Our ultimate goal is to open a luxury sanctuary in St. Barths focused on cats. We aim for this to be a tourist attraction and place to hold events - we can stimulate St. Barths’ economy while providing an elegant solution to the stray cat issue. We will include a cat café, a cocktail bar, and an event space. Renderings coming soon!
